Who does he think he is?
An award-winning writer and former editor of journalism's weekly bible Press Gazette, I'm now a consultant for a range of clients, including magazine and newspaper publishing groups and am also helping set up a new journalism department at the University of Kent .
Examples of my writing can be found here and my videojournalism blog Streaming Blue Murder is here.
I edited Press Gazette through what is commonly held to be its editorially most vibrant period of recent times. And also its most turbulent. I was responsible for the introduction of a number of innovations, including The Magazine Journalism Awards; the newspaper Halls of Fame; the Big Edit "open source" redesign; the commissioning of columnists including Janice Turner, the great Rob McGibbon and the brilliant Axegrinder; and the relaunch of its web site last year. When Press Gazette Ltd went into administration after backers Piers Morgan and Matthew Freud pulled out, I led a vigorous - if ultimately unsuccessful - plan to put the magazine into the ownership of the entire industry.
